Born on February 15, 1974 in Sabae, Fukui.
Rekishi made his major debut in 1997 as the keyboardist for SUPER BUTTER DOG. He's been well received as a keyboardist and as a funky entertainer at live concerts for his sense of movement and his way with words. He also goes by the name MC Yogurt at events, and as Ikechan on television.
Since 2004, Rekishi has been a member of the band 100s with Kazuyoshi Nakamura as the keyboardist. He's also a producer for Suneohair, is a regular on Space Shower TV, and makes appearances on NHK Educational TV's "Tensai Terebikun MAX Bit World."
Seiko Ito calls him "one of the 3 most interesting musicians" and he's gotten to the finals of Toranomon's "Shiritori Ryuosen Kajinsen." In 2007, he made his much anticipated solo debut as "Rekishi."
After 3 years and 9 months since his last release, Rekishi put out his second album in March 2011 through the label cutting edge. In May of that year, he held his first solo concert series "Reki Tour ~Minna de iseki wo meguritakatta~" in Tokyo and Osaka.
